Josh Bragg is the busiest man in motorsports.

He’s also one of the most diverse and skilled all of racing. Bragg is bringing those talents to Mobile International Speedway in Irvington, AL this Saturday night, April 28, in round two of the Miller Lite Super Late Model Series.

Bragg wears a lot of hats during a race week. He’s a crew chief in the ARCA and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for Mobilian Grant Enfinger (also appearing at MIS on Saturday) as well as an accomplished stock car driver in his own right.

Bragg first met Enfinger after a race in 2007 to chat about motors and chassis. The pair immediately hit it off. Enfinger asked Bragg if he could help him at the next Miller Lite 100 in Mobile and the two have worked together ever since.

“Josh has come a long way,” Enfinger said. “He’s got more patience than anyone, at the end of the race, he’s as good as anyone. I think he has a good shot as anybody this week.

Bragg ended a seven-year winless drought last week, by winning in the Midwest Cooling Towers Pro Late Model division. Bragg has built up a lot of momentum in recent weeks and is looking to cap off the month of April with his most impressive outing yet – a victory in Saturday night’s main event.

“It pretty much looked like the boss forgot how to drive,” Bragg said. “It was so good to be back in victory lane and it won’t be last time you see us there.”

Bragg operates Bragg Racing Group (BRG) out of Helena, MS and has watched it become one of the Gulf Coast’s most successful racing properties. In addition to the late models driven by Bragg and Enfinger, the operation also runs Enfinger’s no. 82 Truck Series entry which finished 12th at Daytona in the season-opening NextEra Energy Resources 250.

Bragg and Enfinger will face stiff completion on Saturday in a field that is expected to contain Bubba Pollard, DJ VanderLey, Augie Grill, Steven Davis, Dale Little and Mike Garvey.

The Alabama Pipe and Supply Modifieds, Island Motor II Bombers and the Bob’s Speed Shop Sportsman will also be in action.

Powell and Leytham have had fast enough cars to dethrone Tipton and Corry, but they’ll need the breaks to start falling their way as early as this Saturday night to start making up ground.

“I’m getting closer every week,” Powell said “This team works hard every week and with just a little bit of luck, we will get a win.”

Bob’s Speed Shop Sportsman

Brannon Fowler leads the most competitive season of sportsman racing in recent memory as Fowler, Shanna Ard, James Patrick and Bob Bryant each have legitimate chances at taking the checkered flag. All have led laps this season and have had chances to put races away but it’s Fowler that’s made the most of his chances, leading the championship by 78 over Patrick.

The others hope to bridge the gap and win on Saturday night at Alabama’s Fastest Half-Mile.

Alabama Pipe and Supply Modifieds

The first two races of the Alabama Pipe and Supply Modifieds season have provided two different winners – Donald Crocker and Donnie Hamrac. Crocker leads Hamrac by just 11 points.

Chris Cotto has been close; finishing fifth and fourth in the first two races and trails Crocker by 22 points. A win has to be approaching and Saturday night could feature his first breakthrough of the season.
