It’s the weekend, and that means great racing at tracks all over the nation. Here’s a look at the action at some of your local speedways, along with some of the big national events on tap for this weekend:
–Anderson Motor Speedway in Anderson, SC returns to action Friday, July 8 with the Late Model Stocks, B Mini Stocks, C Mini Stocks, Renegades, Super Renegades, BM Modifieds and Front Wheel Drives. For more info, visit their website.
–Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia hosts a 1/4 Mile Pro Tree Heads-Up Index Race for 10.0, 10.5, 11.0, 11.5, 12.0, 12.5, 13.0, 13.5 & Diesel Truck Challenge; Outlaw, 12.0, and Bracket Classes (No Season Points) on Saturday, July 9. -Friday Night Drags championships at Atlanta Motor Speedway will be awarded to points leaders at the conclusion of the evening’s racing tonight (Friday, July 8). -Saturday night is driver autograph night at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama with racing in the Late Model, Limited Sportsman, Hobby, Bomber, Modified and Road Warrior divisions. Have a look at their website for more info.
-5 Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida plays host to the TBARA Winged Sprint Cars plus action in the Sportsman and Bomber division on Friday, July 8. For more info, check their website.

–Mobile International Speedway in Irvington, Alabama hosts the Tampa Bay Area Racing Association winged pavement sprint cars Saturday, July 9. Along with the Winged Sprint Cars, the track will host its annual FIREWORKS display and the Bob’s Speed Shop Sportsmen and Island Motors II Bombers will compete July 9. –New Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia hosts the Mid-Season Championships Saturday night. Half-way points titles will be awarded in the Mike Wheeler’s Automotive & Transmission Late Models, Crown Security Crate Late Models, Newnan Bonding B Cadets, Summit Racing Equipment Hobby Stocks and Mini Stocks. The Bombers will also be on the racing card for this Saturday night as they continue to compete on an every other Saturday night basis through the end of the season in September. The pit gates open at 5:00pm Saturday. The grandstands open at 6:00pm. Hot laps begin just after 7:00pm with racing set to go green at 8:00pm. –Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia will host round number three of the Georgia for Fair Tax / David Ragan Ford Outlaw Late model Series plus regular racing in local classes which will include Bandoleros, Legends, Claimer, Mini Stock, Pure Stock, and Enduro, plus a fireworks show courtesy of Luke Yoder Construction. –NASCAR heads to the Bluegrass state this week, as the Sprint Cup Series will compete in the inaugural Quaker State 400 at the Kentucky Speedway Saturday night.
