When Toby Porter took the Late-Model Stock victory a week ago at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, SC, he automatically took the Track Championship Points lead, since it was the season opener.

This week, Porter stayed perfect in the points, taking his second win of the season.

“My car was a little tight, but good on the long runs,” Porter said. When we get it just right, it is going to really be an outstanding race car.”

It took Porter three-quarters of the race to take the point, as former track champion Marty Ward was out front. But Ward said his brakes faded in the latter stages, and both Porter and Jeremy Burns managed to pass. Burns, ending up third, said his car was good, but felt he is not getting through the middle of the curves exactly right.

“We are getting better, and it won’t be long before the car is terrific,” he said.

Anthony Anders was the fourth place finisher, and Nate Monteith was fifth.

Ralph Carnes finished sixth, followed by Will Burns. Tasha Kummer was eighth, as Enrique Contreras and Greg Welborn rounded out the top ten.

Chris Chastain, after not being able to race regularly last season, grabbed the lead and held on for his first victory in Trucks, and in an emotional victory lane ceremony, dedicated the win to his grandmother and nephew. Ryan Walker was second, and Randy Ballew, Gene Burnett and Michael Altop completed the field.

Andy Norris rebounded from an season opening accident by working his way to the front and winning the Charger division race. Michael Mote was second, and Mike Mote was third. James Johnson was fourth and Zach Pressley was fifth.

Travis Cox took the victory in the Renegade division as Andrew Cordell and Brandon Fox were second and third. Kyle Ballew and Matt Hale completed the top five.

Mark Gibson won in Street Stocks, as Kyle Gibson finishes second.

Robert Floyd outran Donovan Beacham in the four cylinder class.

Greenville-Pickens Speedway is back in action on Saturday, March 31, as the NACAR K&N Pro Series East comes to town for the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150, along with local action from the Renegades, Chargers, and Trucks.
