Georgia’s Shane Clanton got the East Alabama Motor Speedway season off to a good start by taking the Southern Regional Racing Series Late Model feature win Saturday night in the Jimmy Thomas Memorial at the Phenix City, AL speedway.
Clanton edged out Riley Hickman for the win. William Thomas ran third, trailed by Brian Reese in fourth and Josh Putnam in fifth.
In other action, William Thomas topped the field to take home the Late Model feature victory. Larry Harrod ran second, followed by Thomas Lewis in third, Chase Edge in fourth, and Tyler Millwood in fifth.
Jimmy Thomas was first to the line to win the Limited Sportsman feature. Brand Lewis came across in second, with Steven Gaines, Jr. running third, Craig Grice fourth, and Roger Arnett in fifth.
Joey Keyser scored the win in the Rookie Late Model feature. Tyler Thomason finished second.

In Hobby feature action, John Mchael picked up the win. Kevin Bennett came home second, with Jason Price, Charles Davis, and Tater Holmes rounding out the top five.
Billy Duell, Jr. was the winner in the Bomber feature. Grady Holmes, Jr. finished second, with Ed Lynch running third, Brandon Jordan fourth, and Cameron Metts in fifth.
In the Road Warrior feature, Jerry Lewis scored the win, followed by Leon Childs, Leon Childs, Dylan Holmes, Bobby Duell, and Grady Holmes, Sr.
East Alabama Motor Speedway will be back in action on Saturday, March 23, with action in the late Model, Limited Sportsman, Rookie Late Model, Hobby, Bomber, and Road Warrior divisions.
