Franek, Smith Win In USCS Hendry County Openers

Davie Franek and Mark Smith opened the USCS Sprint Car Series 2022 campaign with wins during the season opening weekend at Hendry County Motorsports Park in Clewiston, Florida.

Franek was the winner at the 1/3-mile clay oval on Friday night, with Smith taking the victory on Saturday night.

On Friday night, Franek raced from the pole position to the win to open the USCS weekend. The Sussex, New Jersey native beat out Jacob Dykstra for the win, with defending series champion Danny Smith in third. Terry Gray followed in fourth, with Mark Ruel, Jr. in fifth.

Danny Smith, Brayden Cooley and Gray won their respective heat races, while Franek was the winner in the speed dash.

On Saturday night, Pennsylvania native Mark Smith outdistanced Franek to record the win. Garet Williamson, Chris Martin, and Ryan Harrison rounded out the top five.

Franek, Mark Ruel, Jr. and Mark Smith won their respective heat races, with Franek also winning his second speed dash of the weekend.
