Todd Morrow topped a stout field of Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series to score the feature victory at ECM Speedway on Saturday night.
The win ended a six year drought in the dirt Super Late Model series the Chattanooga, Tennessee native. It also came in the series’ first visit to the 3/8-mile Arkadelphia, Alabama clay oval.
On the start of the 40 lap feature, David Breazeale charged to lead from his seventh place starting spot, with Dane Dacus and Morrow in pursuit. Dacus had a problem on lap 29, allowing Morrow to move to the runner-up spot.
Breazeale would see his night end on lap 36 when his right rear wheel broke loose, moving Morrow to the lead. From there, he would hold on to bring home the win and a $4,000 payday.
Terrance Nowell finished in second, with Jadon Frame in third, Billy Franklin in fourth and Heath Hindman in fifth.
Eric Cooley, Larry Harrod, Sam Norman, Jason Hiett and Joseph Joiner rounded out the top 10.
