Cord Crowe had his first Stock V8 victory at Georgia’s Hartwell Speedway in hand. He was leading as the final laps of the feature wound down.
But a problem for Crowe on the last lap opened the door for Rocky Jones, and the Bowman, Georgia speedster drove through that opening.
Jones led the final lap en route to his second victory in the past three weeks at the 3/8-mile clay oval and his fourth overall win of the 2018 season.
Crowe finished in second, with Paul Moore in third, Matthew Wall in fourth and Dustin Moore in fifth.
In other action, Bubba Russell led wire-to-wire to score the win in the combined Limited/Crate Late Model victory.
The race started on a scary note. On the initial start, the car of James Cason ended up upside down on the backstretch after contact with another car. Cason was uninjured, but his night was over.
After a lengthy red flag condition to allow for cleanup, the race got underway, with Russell jumping to the lead over Dustin Mincey. From there, Russell drove away to the victory.
Mincey finished in second, with Ashley Poole in third, Eric Veal in fourth and Jay Motes in fifth.
Rusty Jordan took the win in the Hobby feature, with Jimmy Mason in second, Shane Yarbrough in third, Shun Thomas in fourth and Cody Hall in fifth.
Tim Stephens held off Joe Nash to take the victory in the Modified Street feature. Thomas Segars, Jennifer Everett and Johnny Pilgrim rounded out the top five.
Jamie Massey held off a hard charging J.J. Garrett to score the Stock Four feature victory. Ryan Boles and Chris Little trailed the leaders to finish third and fourth, respectively, with Scott Hollars in fifth.
Randy Shaw beat out North West to take home the Front Wheel Drive feature win. Kalen Holmes finished in third, with Joel Powell in fourth and Stacy Foster in fifth.
