Going into Saturday night, it had been over a year since Luther Jenkins made his last trip to Dixie Speedway’s Victory Lane.

That was put behind him at the end of the night, as he held off Johnny Chastain to take the win in a caution free Super Late Model feature at the Woodstock, Georgia raceway.

Travis Millwood turned in the fastest time in qualifying, but spun a six on the invert wheel to put Jenkins on the pole. When the green flag dropped, Jenkins took the lead at and was immediately chased by Justin Shipley. Shipley was unable to challenge and began to fade. Johnny Chastain was able to move past Shipley, and closed on Jenkins’ back bumper.

Jenkins was able to hold him at bay, and went on to score the victory. Chastain held on to second, with Mike McConnell in third, with Tyler Millwood in fourth and Frank Ingram in fifth.

Jake Knowles also entered the night in the midst of a year long dry streak in the Steel Head Late Model division. It looked like the streak may be snapped as he held the lead going into the final lap. But Knowles brakes faded, sending him sliding high as he struggled to keep control of his race car. That allowed Jason Smith to slip past and score the victory. Knowles was able to nurse his car home in second, with Oliver Gentry in third, Scott Hall in fourth and Austin Smith in fifth.

It was a close three-way battle for the win in the Crate Late Model feature as brothers Hunter and Jake Jones along with Matt Black gave the fans a show. Jake would officially lead the first half of the race constantly being challenged by brother Hunter on the high side. Black made his move on lap 11, passing both drivers for the lead, and from there went on to take the win. Jake Jones finished in second, with Hunter Jones in third, Tate Nichelson in fourth and Shane Smith in fifth.

Randall Powell and Daniel Brewer put on side by side show for the $1,000 to win Super Bomber feature. Powell would take the win with Brewer in a very close second. Matt Thompson followed in third with Alan Brewer in fourth and Chris Ledbetter in fifth.

Eric Hamby took the win in the Economy Bomber feature, with Dalton Polston, James Gagnon, Randy Smith and Dan Meadows rounding out the top five.

Cody Sisson was the winner in the Street Stinger class, with Kenny Clack in second, Byron Sisson in third, Casey Creighton in fourth and Randy Ledford in fifth.

For the first time ever, Dixie Speedway held a backwards race where all participants drove in reverse for two laps. It was Frank Ingram beating out, or surviving, the other 20 entrants for the win.
