Donald McIntosh beat out Mike Marlar to score his first career Southern Nationals Bonus Series victory Saturday night in the Plateau 50 at Crossville Speedway in Crossville, TN.
The win makes McIntosh, who hails from Dawsonville, Georgia, the 19th different winner in series history. He pocketed a cool $5,000 for his efforts on Saturday night.
Marlar held on to finish in second, with Cory Hedgecock in third, Shanon Buckingham in fourth and Billy Ogle, Jr. in fifth.
Brandon Kinzer, Ryan King, Stacy Boles, David Payne and John Ownbey-Cleveland rounded out the top ten.
Three caution flags slowed the 50-lap main event. Robby Moses, who was running inside the top-five, came to a stop on the frontstretch with mechanical issues on lap 19. The second yellow flag flew when Jason Welshan slowed in turn four on lap 35.
The final caution flew on lap 39 when Skylar Marlar spun in turn three after contact with John Ownbey. Marlar would have to be pushed to the pits with damage to his racecar.
With the win, McIntosh inherits the points lead from Cory Hedgecock by a four point margin.
The next Southern Nationals Bonus Series race will be on Monday night, May 30 at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, North Carolina.
