Hunter Robbins dominated the Alabama Pro 125 in South Alabama Speedway’s season finale Saturday night in Kinston, AL, taking not only take the victory, but also the Pro Late Model Viper Series championship.

Robbins set fast time in qualifying and then led all 125 laps to capture the win. Ryan Luza and Korey Ruble made Robbins earn the victory, staying glued to the leader’s bumper for much of the race. Luza moved into second on lap 57 with Ruble moving to third one lap later. The pair chased Robbins the rest of the way but never got a chance to take the lead.

Robbins eventually pulled away near the end of the race to win by over a 1.5 seconds. Luza followed in second, with Ruble in third. Chris Davidson came from the 11th starting spot to finish fourth. Brandon Brilliant rounded out the top five.

Canton, GA’s Dwayne Buggay came into the race leading in the points, but finished sixth in the race. Robbins’ win, coupled with Buggay’s sixth place finish, gave the championship to Robbins by nine points.

In other action, the Modifieds of Mayhem Tour concluded its season at South Alabama. Korey Ruble dominated the race, leading all 50 laps. Other than restarts, Ruble was never contested and won by over five seconds over Billy Melvin. Donnie Hamrac finished in third, with Jason Huffmaster fourth and Ryan Redmon fifth. Hamrac’s third place finish was enough to capture the Tour’s Championship.

In the Street Stock Championship race, Chad Roberts took the lead with four laps to go, and went on to take the win. Gary Davis turned fast time in qualifying and led the first eight laps before experiencing mechanical problems on lap nine. Roberts took over the lead and led the next seven laps before Travis Slawson worked his way by on lap 17. Slawson was easing away when the caution flew on lap 24 and gave Roberts another chance. Roberts kept Slawson close for three laps and then made his move to the inside to retake the lead. Roberts led the final four laps to take the win. Johnny Otto got by Slawson with two laps to go to capture second place. Dennis Thomas was fourth and Billy Maxie fifth. For the second year in a row, Otto captured the Street Stock Championship.

In an exciting Roadrunner feature that saw several lead changes and close action throughout the 50-lap race, Jake Daniels emerged victorious and captured the Roadrunner Championship. Jason Kendrick turned the fastest lap in qualifying and led the first six laps. Daniels took over at that point, but Kendrick kept pace with the leader and was joined by Charles Gardner. The trio ran nose to tail and side by side for most of the race. Kendrick beat Daniels to the stripe to lead lap 28, with Gardner charging to the front on the next lap. Gardner continued to lead, through three caution periods, for the next 13 laps before Daniels slipped inside to regain the lead. Daniels led the remaining nine laps to take the win and capture the championship. Gardner was second, followed by Kendrick. Joey Deaton and Michael Hurst rounded out the top five.

In the Powder Puff race, Jessica Mansfield charged into the lead when Valerie Rogers slipped coming out of turn four on lap six to capture the win. Rogers finished second, followed by Ashley Hayes and Amber Rhodes.
