Frank Ingram made his mark on the regular season opener at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA Saturday night, as the second generation driver scored the victory in the Super Late Model feature on the first points paying night of the season.
Ingram scored the win over Shawn Chastain, who came home in second. Luther Jenkins finished in third, with Dale Thurman in fourth and T.J. Reaid in fifth.
Eric Granger, Mike McConnell, Wayne Echols, Buster Goss and Scott Hall rounded out the top ten.
In other action, some of the closest racing of the evening occurred in the Steel Head Late Model feature. Don Jenkins appeared to be heading for victory lane until the yellow flew on the white flag lap allowed the field to close up. Jenkins held the lead on the restart, but saw that lead go away when Mike Bruner made it to his inside in turn three. Bruner would nip Jenkins at the finish line for the win. Jenkins finished in second, with Alan Brewer in third, Chuck Padgett in fourth and Chris Fennell in fifth.
Gathan Burns took home first place money in the Crate Late Model feature. Zack Pilcher finished in second, with Hunter Jones in third, Shane Smith in fourth and Jeff Dernehl in fifth.
Justin Begley held off Scottie Pritchett for the Super Bomber win leaving Andy Morris behind to finish in third. Daniel Brewer and Ronnie Haynes traded paint several laps for the fourth position with Haynes making the final pass for fourth while Brewer settled for fifth.
Landon Bagby grabbed the lead on the start of the Economy Bomber feature, leading flag to flag for his first win of the season. Austin Smith made his way to take second followed by Eric Hamby in third, John Davis in fourth and Drew Larson in fifth.
Dan Bennett led the way to the Pony Stock feature victory, trailed by John Land, David Kirkland, Mitchell Pope and Jamie Cross.
Anthony Pittman made the pass in the final turn for his first win of the season in the Cruiser Division. Brian Dempsey settled for second, followed by George Wilson in third, Randy Ledford in fourth and Daniel Ray in fifth.
Dixie Speedway returns to action on Saturday, May 9 featuring a full race program, including a Championship feature for the Econo Bomber division.
