Forrest Gough powered around the competition and to his second straight Limited Late Model victory Saturday night at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL.

Jason Pope and Henry Burnside brought the field to green. Burnside quickly took the lead and would remain there until the first caution flew when Jeremy Simpson stopping on the backstretch. Back under green, Burnside led the next three laps with Roger Crouse on his back bumper until the caution flew again when Dalton Goldhammer spun in turn four. Caution flew again on lap 10 when Troy Dittebrand spun in turn four, setting up a single file restart with less than five laps to go. Jesse Brown spun in turn two before they could get a lap in, delaying the restart.

On the restart, Burnside charged out front with Crouse close behind. As Crouse appeared to catch Burnside in turn four, the leaders checked up, with Dale Pope spinning to bring out another caution.

Back under green, Gough dove to the inside on lap 14, passing Burnside and Scotty Williams. Gough would drive away to score the victory. Williams finished in second, with Crouse in third, Pope in fourth and Stephen Hohlbaugh in fifth.

In other action, the first feature of the night went to the V8 Warriors. It would be Bill Smith and Brett Phillips making up the front row for the 15 lap feature. When the green waved it was Smith taking charge for the first few laps until Jimmy Baker moved up to battle Smith for the lead. Smith would end up spinning, bringing out the caution and sending him to the tail end of the field. On the restart it was Baker leading with Brett Phillips and Mike Wilson in pursuit. Wilson moved up to challenge for the top spot, and would battle past Baker for the lead. Wilson would go on to score the victory, with Raymond Vann in second. Baker finished in third, with Bill Whitney in fourth and Derek Gray in fifth.

Jerry Bruce and Bill Howard led the Gagel’s Open Wheel Modified field down to green for their feature. On the drop of the green, Matt Miller powered from his fourth starting position to the lead. Caution flew on lap two when Nate Bregenzer slowed on the backstretch. Back under green, Miller drove away to pick up the win. Roger Crouse, Buzzie Reutimann, Austin Sanders and Bill Howard rounded out the top five.

The final feature of the night went to the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers, with Stephen Morris and Jimmy Williams making up the front row. On the start Williams quickly jumped out front to lead until the first caution came out on lap three when Richard Humfeld and Devon Smith tangled in turn two. Williams would lead the field to the restart until lap five, but it was John Moore that moved into the lead. The final caution came out on lap 10 when Edith Scott backed her car into the turn four wall. Moore would lead the final laps and go on to win back-to-back features with George Handy in second, Jimmy Williams in third, Richard Humfeld in fourth and Stephen Morris in fifth.

Racing continues Saturday night as the Late Models will run for 50 Laps paying $3,800 to win in the Scott Thompson Memorial and race #1 for the Donnie Tanner Memorial Series in conjunction with the United Dirt Late Model Series. Also racing will be the East Bay Sprints, Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks, Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers and the Daytona Area Antique Racing Association.
