It was a busy night at the legendary Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA Saturday night with thunder & lightning all around in the early evening as well as some double features for make up races the previous week to run. Once the green flag fell for the first events of the night, races went off without a hitch ending well before the County curfew.
Brasstown, NC’s Ray Cook made a rare appearance for a regular show in the Super Late Model division and held off Jake Knowles to take the win. Cass Fowler, making only his fourth appearance in the Super Late Model class, ran behind in third followed by Donald Mcintosh and Lamar Haygood.
Dillon Wood of Locust Grove made his first ever career Dixie Speedway victory as he led Rucker Orr to the checkers in the Limited Late Model Championship. Orr led most of the way before being passed by Woods on the outside and was forced to settle for second. Jason Williams made his way home in third with Oliver Gentry and Scottie Pritchett rounding out the top five.
Two features were run in the Crate Late Model class and first up was the delayed Championship feature from August 24 that was stopped on lap 2 after a major wreck and injuries put a stop to the racing action due to oncoming midnight curfew.
Maddie Crane raced her way to her second win of the season, becoming the only female driver in the track’s history to win a chanpionship event. The win did not come easy as Justin Shipley gave it everything he could to pass the last several laps and managed to finish second. Henry Ward followed the two several car lengths behind with Zack Pilcher and Doug Ludwig in fourth and fifth.
In the second feature, Shipley’s luck ran better as he took the win Zack Pilcher holding off Crane in third. Evan Bell cracked into the top five in fourth followed by Ludwig in fifth.

Kenny Taylor made his way to the front of the Super Bomber feature to take his third win of the season. Completing the top five were Randall Powell, Andy Morris, Richard Bagby, and Ketchum, AL’s Willie Winsome.
Shane Smith became the first driver to hit double digit wins at Dixie when he took feature number 10 in the Economy Bombers. Smith took a healthy lead while the rest of the field was up for grabs. When the checkers flew, David Burtz was second followed by Pat Wojno, Carl Richards, and Kyle Beavers taking third thru fifth.
The Pony Stocks also ran a Championship event that seen Shannon Etheridge once again in Victory Lane. Jeremy Millsaps gave chase but ended up second all the while holding off Ronnie Faucett in third. Rounding out the top five were John Land and Jamie Cross.
The Cruisers also ran two features due to last weeks curfew and started their night off with the delayed Championship race. It was Todd Lankster making his way to the front to grab the checkers ahead of Joe Trantham, Jimmy Wilson, Goerge Wilson, and Chris Neese.
In race number two, it was Lankster once again in the top spot when the checkers flew. Jimmy Wilson made his way into second follwed by John Sexton, George Wilson and Anthony Pittman.
