Richard and Kyle Petty will tell stories about their racing years at a dinner Friday, Aug. 30, in Gainesville, GA.
The program begins at 7 pm at the First Baptist Church, located at 751 Green Street, in Gainesville.
The Pettys, along with Richard’s daughter, Rebecca Petty Moffitt, and emcee Ronda Rich, are part of the Northeast Georgia History Center’s annual fundraising event, “A Taste of History.” Theme for this year’s program is “From Moonshine to NASCAR: History of Auto Racing in Northeast Georgia.”
Everyone who attends will receive a 72-page magazine published specifically for the event. The publication spotlights a number of well-known race car drivers and promoters from this area, including Bill Elliott, Raymond Parks, Bud Lunsford, Charlie Mincey, Gober Sosebee, Lloyd Seay, Charles Barrett, Jabez and Jabe Jones, Doug Kenimer, Chester Barron, Sara Chastain, Tommy Irvin and many others.
