Tim Crawley jumped out to the early lead, and went on to power to the victory in the USCS 360 Sprint Car feature Friday night at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA.

Crawley took the lead on the drop of the green flag in front of a field of 12 cars, with Eric Riggins, Jr. and Derek Hagar in pursuit. Riggins was working hard to catch Crawley, and coming out of turn four, his car stepped out on him, getting completely sideways with the front wheels off the ground in front of the field. Everybody took evasive action, and was able to avoid Riggins, but Terry Gray spun to avoid Riggins, ending up backwards and stalled on the track.

With the field not completing a lap, race officials called for a complete restart. On the green, Crawley moved back out front, with Riggins and Hagar giving chase. The caution flew again when Augusta, GA’s Jay Dunham made hard contact with the turn four wall. He was okay, but his night was over.

Back under green, Crawley again moved into the top spot, with Riggins and Hagar behind. Hagar went to work on Riggins and would finally make the move for the runner up spot off of turn two. Meanwhile, behind the leaders, Gray was making up lost time from his early spin, as he moved to fourth. As the laps wound down, Crawley began to see his commanding lead shrink, as Hagar was on the charge, looking to challenge for the win. He didn’t have the time he needed, as Tim Crawley streaked under the checkers to score the victory. Hagar came home second, with Riggins, Jr. in third, Gray in fourth and Matt Kurtz in fifth

Also in action on Friday night were the 600 Sprints. Columbus, MS racer Bobby Zaiontz jumped out to the early lead, with Atlanta, GA’s Matt McCullough moving to second and Bob Trapino in third. Mike Magic of Winder, GA wanted a piece of the front, and would work his way around Trapino for third. While the fight heated up for third, Tyler Price slowed suddenly in front of McCullough and Ron Bishop. They had to take evasive action, allowing Bishop to get third. The caution would fly when Price came to a stop on the front stretch. Back under green, Zaiontz charged back to the top spot, with Magic and Bishop giving chase. Magic and Bishop would work hard to try to reel in the leader, but to no avail as Zaiontz scored the win. Magic finished in second, with Bishop in third. McCullough was able to hold off a last lap, last turn charge by Shane Nelson to hold on to fourth, with Nelson credited in fifth.

In other action, Clifton Snow moved out to the lead at the start of the Modified Street feature, with Chris Cape jumping all the way from the back of the field to second, while Jennifer Everett settled into third. Cape hounded Snow lap after lap, but couldn’t make anything happen. On the final lap, Cape got the run he was looking for off turn four, but couldn’t get past Snow, as Snow scores the victory. Cape finishes second, with Everett in third, Louie Tetreault fourth, and Michael Segars in fifth.

In Stock 4s, Kevin Kelly got out front early, with Shane Strickland moving to second, and Greg Sanders in third. Kelly held a commanding lead, while the pack jockeyed for position behind him. When the checkered flag finally flies, it’s Kelly scoring the victory, with Strickland second, Sanders third, Jeff Dobbs fourth, and Kevin Tullis in fifth.

The Limited Late Models had $1,000 on the line for the winner, and David McCoy wanted it. On the drop of the green, McCoy got out to a commanding lead, with Kenny Collins in second and Bubba Russell in third. Russell would go to work on Collins for second, while Gus Simpson moved up to challenge both, making it a three car battle for the runner up spot. Simpson saw his night come to an end with a fire underneath his car, drawing a caution. McCoy would retain the lead on the restart, with Collins and Russell in tow. Clayton Turner would move up to challenge Russell, but could not make it happen. Meanwhile, McCoy bombs away for the victory, pocketing the $1,000 pay day for his efforts. Collins finished in second, with Russell in third, Turner in fourth, and Justin Sims in fifth.

Mason Tucker got the early lead in the Beginner 4 feature, with Daniel Reynolds and Whitney Sanders giving chase. While Tucker and Reynolds moved away, Sanders began to fade, as Adam Partain and Mitchell Ledford worked their way past him. Up front, Tucker drives away for the victory. Reynolds finished in second, with Partain in third, Ledford in fourth, and Sanders in fifth.

The Front Wheel Drive feature started out with three wide action, with drivers jockeying for position as the field funneled down into turns one and two. Robbie Cook had an early issue, opening the door for Patch Anthony to move to the top spot, with Aaron Limbaugh in second. Cook slowed to a stop in turn three, drawing the race’s first caution. On the restart, Anthony goes back to the lead, with Limbaugh in second and Jackie Holden in third. That’s how they would stay, as Anthony scored the win, with Limbaugh in second, Holden in third, J.B. Moser in fourth, and Cook, who recovered from that early problem, came home in fifth.
