With the season winding down at Hartwell Speedway in Hartwlel, GA, almost all the competitors are pulling out all the stops to make it into the top five in the points.
Case in point, Jesse Thurmond, who is currently running seventh in the Stock V8 points, left nothing to chance winning his third race of the year at Hartwell Speedway and getting him one step closer to the top five.
Otis Fleeman came home second, followed by Kevin Gooch in third, Joseph Teasley in fourth, and Colby Thornton in fifth.
In other action, Brandon “Cornbread” Haley recorded the victory in the Limited Late Model feature, beating Bubba Russell to the checkered flag. Brant Carey finished third, with Shane Yarbrough in fourth, and Donnie Barrett in fifth.
Colby Cannon topped the FASTRAK Late Model field to score the feature win. Grant Jordan came across the finish line in second, with Nick Dietz in third, and Ted Crunkleton in fourth.
In Modified Street, Chris Cape beat Chad Hoopaugh to the finish line for the victory. Dean Butler, Larry Parham, and Richard Jones rounded out the top five.
Nick McCall made the trip to victory lane in the Stock Four Cylinder feature. Chris Wilson finished second, followed by Jimmy Little, Adam Smith, and Dale Cross.
Austin Smith scored the win in the Young Guns feature. Mason Tucker came home second, with Drew Collins in third, Adam Partain in fourth, and Taylor Holcomb in fifth.
In the Up Front feature, Steven Powell stormed to the victory. Keith Hicks finished second, followed by Joel Powell, Sr., Stacy Foster, and Kevin Cox.
