Toby Porter’s race didn’t go exactly as he had planned when Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, SC held a special Friday night program, but he seemed to be happy with the results.

“What I had planned to do was just race hard and be satisfied with a third or fourth place finish, but my car was running and handling so well I just drove on up to the front,” he said.

The victory was Porter’s 13th of the season, and increased his track championship point spread with only the Championship Night twin 50’s program remaining in mid-September.

Jeremy Burns took the lead at the start of the race, but on lap 36 Porter was able to get by. Marty Ward finished third, as Jesse Little was fourth. Scott Bishop finished fifth.

It appeared Brad Burns had to make a fourth-corner pass on the last lap for victory in the Renegades main event. But when the cars went to the tech shed the second-place finisher was disqualified. With Burns taking the win, Scott Tyner was second. Steve Guthrie was third, as Kyle Ballew took fourth. Travis Cox was fifth.

Tim Lollis led from start to finish in the Trucks main, as Michael Altop was second. Points leader Ryan Walker was third.

David Rader grabbed the win in the Street Stock division, with Mitch Barrett second. Brandon Segars was third. Freddy Hale, Jr., took fourth and Travis Shelton was fifth. Furnan Craft finished sixth.

Mike Mote showed the way in the Charger main event, taking the lead on the seventh lap. Chuckie Greer took advantage of a late caution flag to move up to second. James Johnnson was third, with Dale Walker fourth and Michael Mote in fifth.

Buck Simmons showed the way in the Four Cylinder main, leading the entire race, as with Ray Mullinax second. Danny Heil was third, as Jessey Barrett and Chris Francis completed the top five.
