Will Power, the defending Honda Indy Toronto winner, earned the PEAK Performance Pole Award at Toronto’s Exhibition Place by posting the quickest lap in the Firestone Fast Six qualifying on the 1.755-mile, 11-turn circuit.
Power, driving the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske car, has swept the pole in the five road/street course races this season, and extended his streak to eight over two seasons.
Five different teams were represented in the Firestone Fast Six, with Power recording a quick lap of 59.5771 seconds with 3 minutes left in the 10-minute session.
Scott Dixon, driving the No. 9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing car, will start on the front row for the second time this season (59.6646 seconds on his final lap). IZOD IndyCar Series points leader Dario Franchitti (59.9000) will share Row 2 with Mike Conway (59.9330). Franchitti set the track record of 59.3535 seconds in the first round of qualifying.
Graham Rahal and Oriol Servia are on the third row.
