After a year of silence, the air around Georgia’s historic Rome Speedway was filled with the noise of race cars again on Saturday night.
Dillon Brown welcomed the track back in style, as he drove to the win in the CRUSA Dirt Late Model feature at the venerable half-mile clay raceway.
Brown, of Gaffney, South Carolina, edged out Chatsworth, Georgia’s Chip Brindle and Chattanooga, Tennessee’s Ronnie Johnson to take the victory and the $10,000 winner’s prize.
Mark Whitener followed in fourth, with Ashton Winger in fifth.
T.J. Brittain, Cody Overton, Austin Horton, Michael Page, and Jadon Frame rounded out the top 10.
In other action, Michael Courtney took home top honors in the 602 Crate Late Model feature. Chris Hough came home in second, with Jacob Parris in third, Chuck Padgett in fourth, and Tucker Anderson in fifth.
Don Jenkins held off Zach Pilcher to win the Open Wheel Modified feature. Brett Gray, Billy Dean, and Scott Hall rounded out the top five.
Jason Young was the winner in the Stinger feature, followed by David Pope in second, Chris Henegar in third, Kevin Scott in fourth, and Blake Stork in fifth.
Jeremy Williams was first under the checkered flag to win the Econo Bomber feature, with Chris Woodall second, Wesley Brown third, Garrett Williams fourth, and Ray Phillips fifth.
