Clanton was the winner on Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, while Moran scored the victory on Saturday night at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio.

On Friday night, Shane Clanton led every lap en route to his second series win of the season at Williams Grove Speedway.

The Zebulon, Georgia speedster took the lead from Ryan Gustin in turn 2 on the opening lap, earning a $10,000 payday with his 48th career series win.

“When you turn into the corner, if you turn in too low, you just shove and go across the racetrack, and (Gustin) went flying across it,” Clanton said. “I just entered hard enough into the turn to get below him in turn 2, and that was all I needed.”

The win almost slipped away in the race’s second half as second-place Max Blair cut a second off Clanton’s lead before a caution reset the field with 10 laps left.

“I got too high in turn 2 over here messing with a lap car trying to drive harder to get by him,” Clanton said. “I was seeing where I could make ground better than just running with them because they were killing me down the straightaways just because they were laying out so hard getting into the corner.

“I couldn’t drive in clean air like I needed to, so I just needed to find a different place, and I just messed up that lap.”

Max Blair held on for second, with Gustin in third, Tanner English in fourth, and Rick Eckert in fifth.

On Saturday, Devin Moran bypassed Ryan Gustin to score a home state win at Sharon Speedway.

The Dresden, Ohio native started fourth in the 40-lap feature, and worked his way to second in the opening five laps. Moran took advantage of lap traffic to take the lead from Gustin in turn four on lap 11.

From there, Moran went on to score his first series win of 2022 and a $10,000 payday in the 800th feature in series history.

“I didn’t know how it was going to be at the start because they did a little bit of track work,” Moran said. “Obviously, the top was pretty fast at the start. I got a good start, got into third, and then Jared (Miley) messed up off of (turn) 4 a little bit, so I slid him and knew I had to take advantage of it.

“From then on, I just tried to run down Ryan (Gustin) a little bit, and once we got into traffic, we pounced on it.”

Gustin, Shane Clanton, Dennis Erb, Jr. and Jared Miley rounded out the top five.

The series was next slated to compete on Sunday at Tri-County Raceway Park in Franklin, Pennsylvania. Over night rains and more rain in the forecast forced series officials to cancel the event. It will not be made up.

The World of Outlaws CASE Late Model Series is next slated to compete at Iowa’s Davenport Speedway on August 26-27.
