McCoy Opens Toccoa Season With Limited Late Model Win

David McCoy started the 2022 racing season in a familiar spot at Georgia’s Toccoa Raceway on Saturday night – victory lane.

The Franklin, North Carolina racer held off Kenny Collins to score the Limited Late Model feature win at the 3/8-mile North Georgia speedway to kick off the year at the Peach State’s oldest continuously operating race track.

Mark Wilbanks followed in third, with David Conley in fourth, and Stephen Segars in fifth.

In other action, Brady Cornett came home with the win in the 602 Sportsman feature. Kevin Stephens finished second, with Nick Schlager third, Jason Black fourth, and John Howard fifth.

Aiden Fortson was the winner in the 602 Chargers feature, with Jerry Buice and Jeremy Arrowood rounding out the podium.

Billy Buffington topped the Modified Street field to score the feature win. Rex Hamrick finished in second, followed by Spud Nicholson in third, Curtis Green in fourth, and Gerald Stanley in fifth.

Veteran truck campaigner Terry Calhoun scored the victory in the Pro Trucks feature, with Bill Pulliam in second, Sammy Calhoun in third, and Lisa Calhoun in fourth.

Jeff Robinson was first across the finish line to take the Open Wheel Modified feature win. Chris Nickerson came home in second, with Kevin Stephens in third, Ethan Sellers in fourth, and Thomas Seabolt in fifth.

Justin Sorrow was the winner in the Stock 8 feature, with Ricky Jones, Dustin Moore, Bradley Jones, and Lee Parson rounding out the top five.

Jamie Massey took the victory in the Stock 4 feature. Jamie Cross finished second, with Randy Boshears third, Jon Sanford fourth, and Randy Edmonds fifth.

Will Kettle scored the Young Guns feature win, with Herbie Chinn in second and Colton Fortson in third.

Austin Kinsey was the winner in the Front Wheel Drive feature, followed by Jackie Holden in second, Cameron Boothe in third, and David Jackson in fifth.
