Chris Madden and Chris Ferguson both left Bristol, Tennessee $50,000 richer on the weekend.
Both scored Super Late Model victories on the dirt covered Bristol Motor Speedway in the Karl Kustoms Bristol Dirt Nationals. Madden won on Friday night, with Ferguson taking the win on Saturday night.
On Friday, Madden pulled away from the pack and nearly lapped half the field as he led wire-to-wire to win the 50-lap feature.
“I’ve had big wins but I have to put this one at the top of the list because it’s Bristol,” Madden said. “My car was about perfect tonight. Really, really pleased with it.”
Chickamauga, Georgia’s Dale McDowell finished second, with Evans, Georgia’s Brandon Overton in third, Blairsville, Georgia’s Jonathan Davenport in fourth, and Mike Marlar in fifth.
On Saturday, Chris Ferguson took the lead on lap eight, and then held off a hard charge from Scott Bloomquist and pole sitter Ricky Weiss to take the victory in the 50-lap feature.
“This is awesome,” Ferguson said. “I am so thankful for all the people that are here with me this weekend, and I am so blessed to be in this moment. I have to thank God. This is the biggest win that I’ve had.”
With the win, Ferguson, from Mt. Holly, North Carolina, is now in the conversation to claim the $100,000 total points bonus next Saturday at the end of the two-week Karl Kustoms Bristol Dirt Nationals.
Davenport, and Ricky Thornton, Jr. rounded out the top five.
