Shun Thomas Tops Limited Late Models At Winder-Barrow

Shun Thomas overcame a dry, dusty track and tough competition to score the Limited Late Model feature victory on Sunday afternoon at Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway.

Persistent rains on Saturday delayed the race to Sunday afternoon, with the hot sun beating down on the ¼-mile clay raceway.

Between the heat and the fast times turned during the day, the track dried out and left the air heavy with dust, making visibility tough for the drivers and the fans in the grandstands.

Thomas, from Westminster, South Carolina, edged out Payton Freeman for the win. Ken Lampp followed in third, with Kenny Collins in fourth and Chris Woods in fifth.

In other action, Cody Overton scored the victory in the Hobby 602 feature, with Mike Davison in second and Tyler Wood in third.

Ronnie Poole took home the win in the Modified Street feature, followed by Quik McCannon in second and Robby Stewart in third.

Chad Puckett made another trip to WBS’ victory lane on the season with a win in the Stock V8 feature. Chase Chancey and William Earnest rounded out the podium.

Justin Taylor beat out J.J. Garrett for the Stock 4A feature win. Tyler Riddle followed in third, with Damen Harrison in fourth and Allen Cantrell in fifth.

Keith Guy topped the Stock 4B feature to take the victory. B.J. Franklin, Mark Proctor, Bubba Brady and Charles Earnest rounded out the top five.

Wayne Chapman, Jr. was the winner in the Front Wheel Drive feature, with Steven Shedd in second, James Robinson in third, Jake McBride in fourth and Kenneth House in fifth.
