Chris Madden scored the victory in the Billy Clanton Classic for the Schaeffer’s Oil Fall Nationals Series on Saturday night at Georgia’s Senoia Raceway.

Meanwhile, home state hero Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Georgia captured the series championship with a ninth place finish.

For Madden, who hails from Gray Court, South Carolina, it marked his second win in the Billy Clanton Classic, having won previously back in 2018.

Madden grabbed the lead from polesitter Shane Clanton on the 13th lap and never looked back in picking up the $10,000 triumph.

“The racetrack had some grip there to start with (after the track crew watered the surface prior to the Super Late Model feature) and we got hung up on the outside and it was a little bit slimy out there,” Madden said. “But when we was able to line the racetrack out, our car come back to us. We got a real good run on Shane (Clanton) down there (in turn one to take the lead). I know that he didn’t know that I was down there and he tried to turn in and I was already there and we got together.”

During the post race celebration, Donald McIntosh was crowned as the 2020 series champion. McIntosh was consistent throughout the tour in racking up one feature win, three top five and four top 10. The Peach State ace received a $5,053 paycheck for his efforts in besting a top five in points that included Joey Standridge, Stacy Boles, Vic Hill, and David Payne.

Mike Marlar finished in second in Saturday night’s season finale, with Billy Moyer, Jr. in third, Ashton Winger in fourth and Michael Page in fifth.

Austin Horton, Zach Leonhardi, Spencer Hughes, McIntosh and Boles rounded out the top 10.
