Connor Leoffler charged from third to first on the final lap to score the USCS Sprint Car Series victory on Saturday night at Georgia’s Senoia Raceway.
The 15-year-old series rookie, who hails from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, started the night in sixth, and worked his way to third behind leader Kyle Amerson and second place Justin Barger.
Leoffler’s opportunity opened up as the leaders took the white flag to begin the final lap. Racing into the first turn, Amerson and Barger fell in behind a lap car in the bottom groove. Leoffler took to the high line, riding against the outside wall to make the pass on the top two coming off the second turn.
From there, Leoffler went on to score the win. It marked his second victory of the weekend, coming one day after becoming the youngest winner in series history on Friday night at Dothan Motor Speedway in Cottonwood, Alabama.
Barger finished in second, with Amerson in third, Mark Ruel, Jr. in fourth and Danny Smith in fifth.
Matt Kurtz, Lance Moss, Terry Gray, Danny Oliver and Mallie Shuster rounded out the top 10 finishers.
Earlier in the evening, Amerson and Ruel, Jr. won their respective heats, while Gray won the Hoosier Speed Dash.
Winners in local stock car action included Austin Horton in Limited Late Models, Wiley McDaniel in Late Model Sportsman, Dawson Martin in Chargers, Keith West in Hobby, Dustin Smith in Bombers, Jeff Dean in Mini Stock and Rick Ricks in Hot Shots.
