Going into Saturday night’s July 4 race at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock Georgia, it had been some seven years since Tyler Millwood had visited victory lane at the storied raceway.
That all changed as the Kingston, Georgia driver took his first Super Late Model feature win at the 3/8-mile red clay track since 2013.
Pole sitter Michael Page jumped out to the early lead, with Millwood settling into second. Page appeared to have the win in hand when his car slowed suddenly on lap 21, sending him to the pits with fuel pump issues.
That handed the lead to Millwood, and he would lead the rest of the way en route to the victory.
Dalton Polston finished in second, with Jason Croft in second, Will Roland in third and Mark Page in fifth.
Justin Shipley, Dalton Cook, Derek Ellis, Gary McPherson and Mike McConnell rounded out the top 10.
In other action, Oliver Gentry led wire-to-wire in the Steelhead Late Model feature to take the victory. Behind him, Don Jenkins and Randall Powell battled for second, with Jenkins taking the position at the checkered flag. Jacques Daniel finished in fourth, with Tate McCollum in fifth.
Ahnna Parkhurst was the winner in the Crate Late Model feature, her first win at Dixie Speedway. Blant Duke follwed in second, with Cody Haskins in third, A.J. Carlisi in fourth and Scott Hall in fifth.
Justin Wakefield gained his second straight Open Wheel Modified feature, with Steven Hite in second and Chuck Page in third.
Chris Hough led a crowded field to take the 602 Sportsman feature win over Sawyer Tinker in second, Larry Higgins in third, Jonathan Martin in fourth and Alan Brewer in fifth.
Dylan Armstrong got his first win of the year in the Economy Bomber feature. Jeremy Williams, Allen Barber, David Kirkland, and Andrew Findley rounded out the top five.
Jason Young took his second Street Stinger feature win in a row, with Rick Ricks in second, James Drummond in third, Roger Adkins in fourth and Jonathan Nelson in fifth.
