Atlanta Motor Speedway is equipped to help fans race to good hygiene during the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500.

The Speedway is installing additional hand-washing stations in key places throughout the facility and will be distributing hand sanitizer to guests as they arrive for the weekend’s slate of activities.

High-traffic areas where things like hand-rails are often touched will also receive deep cleaning throughout the weekend.

AMS is closely monitoring facts and recommendations from public health officials regarding COVID-19. The CDC’s current risk assessment says for the majority of people, the immediate risk of being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to be low, and that there is not widespread circulation in most communities in the United States.

To prevent the spread of cold, flu or COVID-19, experts are encouraging prevention, not panic, and asking people to practice good hygiene: frequent hand-washing, using hand sanitizer and covering sneezes and coughs.

Atlanta Motor Speedway is encouraging all attendees to follow these recommendations as the NASCAR race weekend, March 13-15.
