While the rains finally rolled out of North Georgia on Thursday, the damage had already been done to a few racing programs set to open over the weekend.
With seven inches of rain having fallen around the Senoia, Georgia area in the previous 10 days, officials at Senoia Raceway didn’t feel they had enough time to get their 3/8-mile clay speedway in shape in time for their season opener on Saturday.
That led officials to call off Saturday’s event. Attention now turns to the next race on the track’s calendar, as Senoia Raceway will host the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals on Saturday, March 21.
