WoO LMS Opens 2020 With Battle At The Border At Vado

The World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series opened up its 2020 season over the weekend, as a trio of winners visited victory lane in the inaugural Battle at the Border at New Mexico’s Vado Speedway Park.

Chris Madden took the win on Friday, with Ricky Weiss winning on Saturday and Cade Dillard wrapping up the race weekend in victory lane on Sunday.

On Friday, Madden held off two-time and defending series champion Brandon Sheppard over the closing laps to score the victory.

Ricky Weiss came home in third, with Scott Bloomquist in fourth and Mike Marlar in fifth.

On Saturday, Ricky Weiss moved to the lead on lap 14 around Chris Madden to take the lead. Weiss then drove through lap traffic and held off Brand Sheppard to record his first career series win.

It marked the first Canadian-born driver to record a series victory.

Sheppard held on to finish in second, with Madden in third, Darrell Lanigan in fourth and Mike Marlar in fifth.

The race weekend wrapped on Sunday, as Cade Dillard edged out Brandon Sheppard for the win, with Lanigan, Scott Bloomquist and Weiss rounding out the top five.
