Smokey Roberts spent the opening laps of Saturday’s Modified Street feature at Georgia’s Hartwell Speedway chasing the back of Sterling Helm’s car.

Helm came into Saturday looking to defend an undefeated record in the division so far in 2019 at Hartwell. But he saw that streak come to an end when engine woes sidelined him.

That moved Roberts to the lead. The veteran racer from Toccoa, Georgia led the rest of the distance en route to his first win of the season at the 3/8-mile clay raceway.

Johnny Pilgrim finished in second, with Ty Nalley in third, Daniel Doster in fourth and Shannon Price in fifth.

In other action, Drew Collins drove to the victory in the Limited Late Model feature. Mason Tucker came home in second, with Grant Jordan in third, Wesley English in fourth and Chris Segars in fifth.

Adam Partain drove to his second straight Crate Late Model feature, with Cody Pritchett in second, Kenny Collins in third, Chris McKeehan in fourth and Jimmy Mason in fifth.

Joe Yarbrough held off Crandall Turner to score the Hobby feature win. John Howard, Austin Brumbelow and Shane Yarbrough rounded out the top five.

Bradlee Jones held off Rocky Jones and Evan Brown to score the Stock V8 feature victory. Dustin Moore finished in fourth, followed by Robert Crowe in fifth.

Jamie Massey was flagged the winner of the Stock Four feature, but saw that win go away when he and second place finishers Josh Lewis failed post-race tech inspection.

That moved Jeffery Lord to victory lane, with Bubba Nation to second, Pete Whitley to third and Jeff Holbrooks to fourth.

It was a similar story in the Open Wheel Modified feature, where Brant Carey was flagged the winner, only to see the victory go away when he failed in post race inspection. Matthew Widener inherited the win, with Matthew Wall moving to second place.

Hoyt Partain came out on top of a spirited last-lap battle with Tanner Nation to score the Young Guns feature victory. Alyssa Goldsmith finished third.

J.J. Sorrow edged out Kalen Holmes to take home the Front Wheel Drive feature victory. Alex Powell finished in third, followed by Dillon Christian in fourth and Travis Barbare in fifth.
