Leonhardhi Gets SLM Victory, Shipley Takes Title At Dixie

Zach Leonhardi scored his first career win at the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia on Saturday night, as the Cartersville, Georgia speedster used an outside pass to record the Super Late Model victory.

Meanwhile, Douglasville, Georgia’s Justin Shipley used a fourth place finish to wrap up division championship for 2018, as the speedway wrapped up the track point titles for the season.

Shawn Chastain led the opening half of the feature, but was overhauled by Leonhardi in heavy lap traffic.

From there, Leonhardi went on to score the win, with Chastain in second, Jason Croft in third, Shipley in fourth and Eric Granger in fifth.

In other action, Jody Knowles made his first visit to Dixie of the season count as he scored the win in the Steelhead/525 feature, with Dale Polston in second. Landon Bagby finished second, taking the division points championship by 10 points over Polston. Zach Pilcher finished in fourth, with Dale Thurman in fifth.

Hunter Jones scored his second straight Crate Late Model feature victory, with Will Roland in second, Bobby Richey, Jr. in third, Colby Kilgore in fourth and Logan Palmer in fifth. Kilgore scored the division championship.

Jonathan Martin led the way to the 602 Sportman feature victory, with Rob Johnson, Chris Sizemore, Jake Green and Nick May rounding out the top five. Alan Brewer finished in seventh, which was good enough to wrap up the division championship.

Dan Meadows took the Economy Bomber points lead at the start of the season and held it all the way to end, wrapping up the closest point chase of the year with the victory. Justin Begley followed in second, with Andrew Johnson in third, Eric Hamby in fourth and Randy Smith in fifth.

Kenny Clark outran the Street Stingers field to score the feature win over Cody Holmes, with Logan Johnson in third, John Summerville in fourth and Casey Creighton in fifth. Tony Newman’s dominating season led him to the division championship.
