Austin Horton drove to the win in Saturday night’s points paying opener for the Super Late Model division at Georgia’s Senoia Raceway.
Horton, who hails from Whitesburg, Georgia, took the lead after leader Clint Smith tangled with the lap car of Kyler Haygood. From there, Horton cruised away to the victory, while Smith had to settle for second.
Ricky Williams came home in third ahead of Shane Fulcher in fourth and Mason Massey in fifth.
In other action, Dennis Hale overtook Rucker Orr on lap five of the Limited Late Model feature, and went on to score the victory. Joey Armistead finished in second, with Orr in third, Bailey Williams in fourth and Bobby Mills in fifth.
In the Late Model Sportsman feature, Dylan Knowles held the early lead, but was challenged time and again by Brandon McDaniel for the top spot. McDaniel was trying an outside move on the leader when he clipped the wall, breaking a front wheel and sending him hard into the turn one wall. His car caught fire, but McDaniel exited quickly, and was unhurt.
Back under green, Knowles soon came under fire from Wiley McDaniel, Brandon McDaniel’s brother. Wiley McDaniel was able to take the lead on lap 18, but with three laps to go, he hit the outside wall, ending his night. Knowles retook the lead and went on to score the win, with Chris Arnett, Billy Stevenson, Levi Campbell and Cory Compton rounding out the top five.
Thirteen-year-old Joshua Till took the lead from Tommy Faulker with six laps to go in the Mini-Stock feature, and went on to the victory. It was the first career track feature win for Till, the grandson of Georgia Racing Hall of famer Mike Head. Jamie Nicholson, Sr. finished in second, with Faulkner in third, Bobby Faulkner in fourth, and Harold Leath in fifth.
The Griffin Hose & Hydraulics Sportsman Charger feature also saw a first time winner, as Tanner Collins recovered from a lap two spin to record the victory. Michael Blankeney came home in second, followed by McKenna Nelms in third, Dave McWilliams in fourth, and Kayla Boswell in fifth.
Marty Massey led wire-to-wire to take the Crate Late Model feature win. Austin Horton, who won in Super Late Models, finished in second, with Dusty Jones in third, Jamie Maurice in fourth, and Matthew Wyatt in fifth.
Ted Willingham dominated the Hobby feature while Dunie Dillard won his fourth Bomber feature of the season leading every single lap. It was Dean Williams first win of the 2018 season in Hot Shots.
