Drew Collins used the high line around Georgia’s Hartwell Speedway on Saturday night, and held off Ashley Poole to score the Limited Late Model feature at the 3/8 mile clay raceway.

Wesley English set fast time in qualifying, but a four car inversion put Poole on the pole.
Poole, who scored the division win the week before, brought the field to green, but it was Collins with a strong run on the high side that came away with the lead the first time the field came off of turn two.

The caution flew on lap 7 when Donald McDonald came to a stop at the bottom of turn four.

On the restart, Collins, who hails from Auburn, Georgia, again took the lead, with Poole and Mason Tucker in pursuit. As the race neared the halfway point, Pool began working the low line, trying to find a path around Collins to take the lead.

As the lead duo battled, that allowed Tucker to close, and began looking for a chance to pass Poole. He made the pass off of turn four, only to see it nullified when the caution came out as McDonald’s engine expired.

Back under green, the battle between Collins and Poole resumed. Over the closing laps, Poole could get alongside in the corners, but Collins was able to edge him at the flagstand each lap, sometimes by only inches.

With the white flag in the air, Poole put together his best challenge of the race, pulling alongside Collins as the duo made their final lap. Coming to the checkered flag, Collins was able to get one more strong run off the high side of turn four, edging Poole at the line by just half a car length.

Tucker finished in third, followed by English in fourth, and Shun Thomas in fifth.

The Crate Late Model feature saw an equally thrilling finish, as Nick Dietz edged off Frankie Beard at the checkered flag to take the victory. Chris Calvert finished in third, with Daniel Wilson in fourth and Grant Jordan in fifth.

Chris McKeehan scored the win in the Hobby feature, with Royce Bray in second, Will Beard in third, Jay Motes in fourth and Alex Yarbrough in fifth.

Royce Bray was the winner in the Modified Street feature. Wormy Gaddis, Johnny Pilgrim, Dale Baird and Jennifer Everett rounded out the top five.

Shannon Duck powered to the lead in the Stock V8 feature, and he never looked back en route to the win. Nathan Bowers finished in second, followed by Mike Shaw in third, Wilton Bailey in fourth and Chase Baird in fifth.

Jeffery Lord took top honors in the Stock Four feature, with Johnny Mobley second, Arti Ridgeway third, Wayne Summers fourth and Pete Whitley fifth.

Justin Sorrow scored the victory in the Up Front feature. Joel Calbe finished second, followed by Randy Shaw in third, North West in fourth and Shawn Nichols in fifth.
