Travis Pennington opened the 2018 FASTRAK Racing Series season with a win on Saturday night at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia.
The Stapelton, Georgia driver bested a field of 36 entries en route to the $3,000 winner’s payday.
On his way to the win, Pennington fended off an early charge by Ross Bailes. In closing laps, Ben Faircloth closed in on Pennington as the pair approached the tail end of the field.
While negotiating lapped traffic proved difficult, Pennington held off Faircloth for the win by 0.583 seconds.
Faircloth finished in second, with Bailes in third, Dillon Brown in fourth, and Matthew Nance in fifth.
Colby Cannon, Ches Chester, Cla Knight, Joshua Bishop, and Jeremy Faircloth rounded out the top ten.
The FASTRAK Racing Series will be back in action on March 31, again at Screven Motor Speedway for a $3,000 to win feature. For more information, visit FASTRAKRacing.com.
