Cape Drives To SECA Late Model Victory At Hartwell

Chris Cape powered to the front of the SECA Late Model field in Saturday night’s feature at Hartwell Speedway, and went on to score the win at the Hartwell, GA 3/8 mile clay raceway.

Cape had to hold off Payton Freeman to take the win and make his first trip of the season to Hartwell’s victory lane.

Dillon Brown came across the finish line in third, with Cody Pritchett in fourth and Steven Bowie in fifth.

In other action, Frankie Coates held off Drew Collins to score his second straight Limited Late Model feature win. Wesley English finished in third, with Ashley Poole in fourth and Kenny Collins in fifth.

Shane Yarbrough topped the Hobby Stock field to score the feature victory. Chase Lampp finished second, with John Howard third, Greg Scoggins fourth and Mike Payne in fifth.

David Archer took the victory in the Modified Street feature. Tyler Brown, Preston Strickland, Chad Sellers and Trey Ridgeway rounded out the top five.

In the Stock V8 feature, Ricky Mauldin beat out David Fowler for the win, with Evan Brown in third, Tinker Roberts in fourth and Jeremy Jones in fifth.

Shane Strickland was the winner in the Stock Four Cylinder feature. Cy Strickland finished in second, with Jeremy Hicks third, Mason Tucker fourth and Bobby Shelton fifth.

Landon Mack took the Up Front victory, with Justin Sorrow finishing second and Taylor Mac in third.

Hartwell Speedway returns to action on Saturday, March 26 with the SECA Late Models competing for a $2,000 prize, along with racing form the Limited Late Model, Hobby Stock, Modified Street, Stock V8, Stock Four and Up Front divisions.
