After a week off due to rain, action returned to Hickory Motor Speedway in Newton, NC in a big way, as Landon Huffman beat Shane Lee to the finish line to score the Late Model Stock victory on Saturday night.

Lee would grab the early lead, with Huffman in to while the field settled in. Caution would come out at lap 40 for a car stalled on the backstretch and would bring the field back together. Back under green, Huffman would press Lee for the lead and eventually take the point.

As the laps wound down, it appeared as if Huffman was going to make his first visit to victory lane of the season, until caution bunched the field once more. Huffman tried to hold onto the lead on the restart, but Lee would take the point.

Contact between the leaders would stack up the field. As the cars were exiting turn 4, contact from Annabeth Barnes would send Dexter Canipe, Jr. for a spin, while the cars of Barnes and Matt Piercy would stack up together and finally come to a rest against the outside retaining wall. Piercy’s car would end up on top of Barnes’ ride. Both drivers were uninjured.

Back under green, Huffman and Lee would resume their fight for the lead. When the checkered flag flew, it was Huffman scoring the win. Lee finished in second, with Ashley Huffman in third, Canipe, Jr. in fourth and Piercy in fifth.

Mark Johnson took the early lead in the T-Mobile Limited Late Model feature. The battle for third would have a seven car train with Evan Duggins leading the pack. Cautions became frequent and at one time it seemed as if every driver in the field would spend some time in the top 5. At the end of the race Spencer Boyd would take the win, with Mark Johnson bringing home second. Mitch Walker would grab third, with Pat Rachels in fourth and Zach Bruenger in fifth.

Charlie Neill would set the pace in the Street Stock feature. Action would begin early with a spin in turn 4 by Steven Smith to bring out the first caution. Neill would lead early as the battle would be for second between Marshall Sutton and Kevin Eby for several laps before Eby would take the spot. Neill would go on to his second win of 2015 with Eby grabbing second. Cody DeMarmels, Sutton and Don Machutta rounded out the top five.

Eddie Gilbert topped the field to score the 4 Cylinder feature win. Shane Canipe finished in second, with Dennis Trivette in third, Robert Trivette in fourth and Curtis Pardue in fifth.

Kenneth Roberts took the win in the Wrench Rags Renegades feature. Kyle Divanna finished in second, with Justin Austin third, Shawn Hayes fourth and Blake Walker in fifth.
