McCoy Motors To Hartwell Limited Late Model Win

The weather might have been cold, but the action was red hot on the 3/8 mile clay at Hartwell Speedway in Hartwell, GA on Saturday night.

David McCoy returned to a familiar spot at Hartwell – victory lane – by holding off Ashley Poole for the Limited Late Model victory. It marked the first victory of the season for McCoy at the speedway, while Poole came home in the runner-up position.

Jimmy Johnson, who scored the division win one week ago, finished in third, with Frankie Cates in fourth and Jimmy Ivester in fifth.

Drew Collins, Chris Woods, Bubba Russell, Brent Russell and Randy Edmonds rounded out the top ten.

In other action, Grant Jordan powered to the SECA Late Model feature victory, with Frankie Beard in second. Ashley Poole, pulling double duty with the Limited Late Models, finished in second, with asphalt Late Model veteran Russell Fleeman in fourth and Cameron Crowe in fifth.

Mart Paterson scored the win in the Hobby Stock feature. Nick Sellers finished second, with Brad Russell in third, Chris McKeehan in fourth and Rod Roberts in fifth.

Thomas Segars took top honors in the Modified Street feature, with Michael Segars finishing second. Chris Cape, Kole Hardy and Daniel Snow rounded out the top five.

Joey Kelly was the winner in the Stock V8 race. Holly Bales rolled home in second, with Terry Brown in third, George Fortson in fourth and Joseph Teasley in fifth.

In the Stock Four feature, Mason Tucker topped the field to score the win, with Shane Strickland in second, Dustin Bales in third, Drew Griffith in fourth and Terry Calhoun in fifth.

Justin Sorrow scored the win in the Up Front feature. Lisa Calhoun crossed the line in second, followed by Joel Powell, Sr. in third, Neil Meeks in fourth and Robert Floyd in fifth.

Saturday night marks the first points paying races of the season at Hartwell Speedway, including double points features for the Stock V8 and Stock Four divisions. Also in action will be the Limited Late Models, SECA Late Models, Hobby, Modified Street and Up Fronts.
