Thursday was meant to be the opening day of Preseason Thunder, the first testing session of the year for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for February’s season opening Daytona 500.

Instead, it was a day where Mother Nature reigned, as rain washed out the full day of practice at the World’s Center of Speed.

Friday’s practice is slated to roll off at 9 am, and will roll through the lunch break. Friday’s weather forecast shows a 30 percent chance of rain up to noon, with the chance for precipitation decreasing as the day goes on.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series is slated to take to the track for practice on Saturday and Sunday. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will get their time on the speedway on Monday and Tuesday.
