Don Jenkins took his new West Georgia Fence/Rocket Chassis ride and dominated the Limited Late Model class at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA Saturday night, as he went on to win his heat race as well as the feature race. Following Don to the checkers were Oliver Gentry, Jason Williams, Mike McConnell, and Johnny Cloer.
Tyler Millwood of Kingston, GA grabbed the lead of the Super Late Model feature and never let go.
It was not to be an easy win, as Millwood faced several challenges throughout the race, especially in the closing laps from Jason Croft who tried every thing he could from the high side to the low groove to no avail. Croft had battled Shawn Chastain in the early going for second before finally passing for good on lap 21. Croft would go on to finish a close second, followed by Shawn Chastain, Doug Stephens, and Jody Knowles.
A protest was lodged against Millwood’s tires after the feature. The tires are being sent for testing and results at this time are pending.
Zack Pilcher led the way in the Crate Late Models as he held off Justin Shipley for the win. Shipley followed in second having to fend off Maddie Crane in third. Doug Ludwig followed in fourth with Henry Ward finishing in fifth.
In the Super Bomber feature, Roy Patterson looked to have things well in hand after several months out of victory lane. All that came to naught when a suspension bar broke on the front stretch, causing him to almost come to a complete stop, leaving second place Kirk Atkins with barely any time to react. Kirk struck Patterson’s left rear knocking both cars out of the race. This put Daniel Brewer on the point. He went on to take the win ahead of Richard Bagby, Andy Morris, Richard Smith, and Tim Ford.
The Economy Bomber feature took a couple of interesting turns as David Burtz took the initial lead, hotly pursued by Pat Wojno, Rob Johnson and Dan Meadows. With three laps to go, Burtz spun coming out of turn two, collecting Johnson. When the green flew on the restart, Wojno took the lead and went on to be flagged as the winner. Instead of turning towards the scales for post race inspection, Wojno turned and left the track for his pit area thus being DQ’d, handing the win over to Dan Meadows. Shane Smith would move up to second, while James Gagnon, Wesley Scott, and Gooch Spriggs rounding out the top five.
Jeremy Millsaps jumped into the lead in the Pony Stock race and looked to be heading to victory lane when his engine let go with two laps to go. This left the door open for Jake Jones, who went on to take his very first career win. Jones held off Matt Thompson, Ronnie Faucett, Shannon Etheridge, and Jamie Cross.
Todd Lankster took another win in the Cruiser race over George Wilson, Nick Scott, and Edwin Scott.
