Racing between the rain drops, Jerome Hanson stole the show at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA Friday night in the Hobby feature.
Hanson, a long time veteran of the now defunct Athens Speedway, returned to racing after a 22 year layoff. Despite the long time spent out from behind the wheel, Hanson brought the Lavonia crowd to their feet as he powered his way to the victory, leading all 15 laps over the 11-car field to score the win.
Daniel Fowler crossed the finish line in second, with Brad Russell in third, Cody Puckett in fourth, and Gerald Stanley in fifth.
In other action, David McCoy scored yet another Limited Late Model victory at the Lavonia 3/8 mile. Bubba Russell crossed the finish line in second, with Stephen Segars in third, Gus Simpson in fourth, and Clayton Turner in fifth.
In FASTRAK Pro Late Model action, Steve “Hot Rod” LaMance beat out David McCoy for the win. Lee Cooper finished in third, with Jimmy Ivester in fourth, and Grant Jordan in fifth.
Paul Byrum topped the field to score the win in the Modified Street feature. Rusty Jordan came home in second, with Butch Shepherd in third, Johnny White in fourth, and Daryl Ivester in fifth.
Kevin Kelly topped the Stock Four field to score the feature win. Cy Strickland, Shane Stickland, Shannon Ervin, and Randy Edmonds rounded out the top five.
Payton Freeman crossed under the checkered flag first for the Beginner Four victory. Daniel Reynolds finished in second, with Adam Partain in third, Mason Tucker in fourth, and Jeremy Hicks in fifth.
J.B. Moser won in the Front Wheel Drive feature. Patch Anthony was second, with Jackie Holden third, and Aaron Limbaugh in fourth.
