Rusty Jordan Wins In Randall Jordan Memorial At Hartwell

It was a bittersweet celebration Saturday night at Hartwell Speedway in Hartwell, GA for Jordan family with the running of the inaugural Randall Jordan Memorial.

The recent lose of the 48-year-old Jordan still has the local racing community in shock. Jordan, who had a racing career spanning over 30 years, won a feature race just days before his death. Jordan’s family joined in on the celebration with a special memorial lap in honor of him led by his brother Grant and Randall’s son Rusty Jordan.

On this very special night it was almost kismet that Rusty Jordan made it to victory lane in honor of his father. In one of the most exciting modified street races of the season, Jordan held off over 13 top competitors to take the checkers. Veteran driver Clifton Snow did all he could to run down Jordon, getting fender to fender on several occasions, but eventually ran out of laps. Snow finished in second, with Michael Segars in third, John Teasley in fourth, and Chad Hoopaugh in fifth.

In other action, Colby Cannon edged out Grant Jordan for the win in the FASTRAK Late Model feature. Eric Veal finished in third, with Brad Morehead in fourth, and Austin Dowling in fifth.

Jessie Thurmond scored the victory in the Stock V8 feature. Cal Moon, Keith Ross, Stephan Segars and Terry Brown rounded out the top five.

In Stock Four Clinders, J.J. Garrett beat out Ryan Boles for the win. Scott Hollars finished in third, with Dustin Bales in fourth, and Austin Brumbelow in fifth.
