Jesse Thurmond sailed into victory lane in Stock V8 action at Hartwell Speedway in Hartwell, GA Saturday night.
Thurmond started the main event along the previous week’s feature winner, Cal Moon. Moon would move into the lead on the drop of the green, but would see his night come to an end when his car lost power and trailed smoke with a blown engine.
That opened the door for Thurmond, who would take the lead on the restart and spend the rest of the feature holding off Terry Brown and Doug Moon for the victory. April Backer finished in fourth, with Colby Thornton rounding out the top five.
In other action, David McCoy swept both of Saturday night’s Late Model features. In the Limited Late Model feature, McCoy beat out Parker Herring for the win, with Bubba Russell finishing in third, Keith Freeman in fourth, and Bruce Taylor in fifth.
In the FASTRAK Late Model feature, McCoy flashed under the checkered flag ahead of Adam Smith in second, with Brandon Haley in third, Grant Jordan in fourth, and Johnny Tucker in fifth.
In Modified Street action, Clifton Snow beat out a large field of competitiors to come away with the victory. Chris Cape finished in second, with Doug Sellers in third, Chris Jones in fourth, and Chad Hoopaugh in fifth.
J.J. Garrett came home with the win in the Stock Four Cylinder feature. Cy Strickland finished second, followed by Dale Cross in third, Chris Wilson in fourth, and Nick McCall in fifth.
In Young Guns action, Mason Tucker beat out Adam Partain to score the victory. Jeremy Hicks came across in third, followed by Payton Freeman in fourth, and Taylor Holcomb in fifth.
Trey Chapman won in the Up Front feature. Steven Powell, Neil Meeks, Wayne Chapman, and Travis Barbare rounded out the top five.
