Steve Dalton was the winner of the Late Model Stock Car feature in the Inaugural Racing Dynamiks 200 at Franklin County Speedway in Callaway, VA on Monday night. Dalton took the lead for the final time on lap 37, passing Tommy Peregoy, to score the win in the first race of the 2013 season.

“That was a heck of a race,” said Dalton. “We had a lot of fun. We started out the first part of the race going good and biding our time. I was riding behind Kyle Dudley and decided to wait because we had plenty of time.”

Dalton had to overcome early adversity to win the race when he and Kyle Dudley spun to avoid a car that had slowed down in front of them on the track with mechanical problems.

“I came off the corner and there’s a car blocking the track,” explained Dalton. “Kyle spun himself out and I did the same thing. We spun ourselves out to keep from hitting the car. We ended up going to the rear. It killed my tires and then killed them even more getting back to the front. Once I got back to the front, I was lucky to stay there.”

Tommy Peregoy finished second while Kyle Dudley, Kyle Barnes and David Sell rounded out the top-five.

JC Morgan picked up the win in the Tuner division race. Morgan inherited the lead when Chad Burnopp and Breeze Linkenhoker got together.
