Starting outside pole Saturday night, Tyler Millwood held off the early challenges of Michael Page to get into victory lane for the second week in a row at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA.

With Millwood taking a very healthy lead over the rest of the field, Page spent the rest of the feature holding off a very strong Donald McIntosh. Page held on to the second spot leaving McIntosh settling for third. Tony Knowles brought his ride home in fourth with Jason Croft crossing the line in fifth.

The Limited Late Model feature looked as if it was going to be smooth sailing until the midway point, when the full moon crept above the tree line and began to trouble the leaders. Cass Fowler took a commanding lead and looked to be heading for another feature win when, during a caution, his driveshaft broke on the front stretch, ending his night. This put Rucker Orr in the top spot on the restart, and with the green flag flying, Orr also took a strong lead. As Orr moved lapped traffic, a back marker suddenly blew a radiator hose leaving Orr nowhere to go but full throttle into the water and straight into the third turn wall ending his night.

This gave the lead to Oliver Gentry, who then held off the challenges of Jason Smith and Allan Brewer. With the White flag flying, Smith and Brewer collected each other to bring out another yellow. With the green and white flags waving, Gentry held off the surviving cars to take his first win of the season. Completing the top five in order were Scottie Pritchett, Jason Williams, Jason Smith, and Mike McConnell.

Mark Page lept into first place in the Crate Late Model feature and did not relinquish it the entire distance. Behind him however, the racing was hot and heavy with everyone at one point running three wide. When it was all said and done, Chuck Page had raced his way to second followed by Mason Massey in third, Henry Ward in fourth, and Zach Pilcher in fifth.

The Super Bomber feature had a repeat winner as Kirk Atkins took the checkered flag for the second week in a row. Andy Morris gave chase settling for second in the end and was followed by Daniel Brewer in third, Kenny Taylor in fourth and Roy Patterson in fifth.

Dan Meadows found his way to victory lane in the Economy Bomber feature, holding off a very strong Shane Smith. Smith came from dead last in a fifteen car field to challenge Meadows several times but couldn’t make the pass for the lead. Smith clinched second while Rob Johnson took third followed by Kyle Beavers and Greg King.

In the Pony class, Shannon Etheridge clawed his way to first place after starting 18th in the feature. Etheridge then held off Ronnie Faucett, John Land, Jake Jones, and CJ Dettmar who completed the top five in that order.

Jimmy Wilson took the checkers in the Cruiser race finishing ahead of Joe Trantham, George Wilson, Randy Ledford, and John Sexton.

Dixie Speedway returns to action on Saturday, June 1, with the Bill Ingram Memorial. Visit dixiespeedway.com.
