With the threat of rain all around, officials at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA made the effort to get the show in Saturday night only to have rain interrupt the show halfway throughout the night.

The Super Late Model Feature took the green and made eight laps with Tyler Millwood in the lead when the rain forced the red flag on the race and the rest of the night. The race will be restarted on lap eight on May 18 as well as their regular feature with double features being held for the Crate Late Model and Cruiser Divisions as they also were rained out.

Before the rains came, several classes were able to get their features in. The Limited Late Model feature would see Mike McConnell grab the lead from Oliver Gentry and roll his way to his third win in a row. Oliver Gentry came home second with Cass Fowler on his tail in third. Jason Smith and Alan Brewer closed out the top five.

Daniel Brewer took his first win of the season in the Super Bomber feature as he held off last weeks winner Kenny Taylor. Timmy Millwood raced his way into third with Roy Patterson and Andy Morris completing the top five.

The Economy Bomber feature was a tight race that by the time it was over, Tate Nichelson crossed the line in first with Cody Czobat rubbing his rear bumper in second. Dan Meadows came from deep in the pack for third with Michael Reardon and Tom Darby fourth and fifth.

The Pony Stock feature would have the closest race of the night that could have had a blanket thrown over the top five. When all was said and done, 2012 Pony Stock Champion Shannon Etheridge captured his first win of the season. After many position changes, Jamie Cross grabbed second followed by Jeremy Millsaps, Ronnie Faucett, and John Land in third thru fifth.

Dixie Speedway will be taking Saturday May 4 off and will return to racing May 11 with the Ray Cook Spring Nationals rolling into town for a $6000 to win Super Late Model feature. For more info, visit dixiespeedway.com.
