Randy Weaver took advantage of Skip Arp’s mechanical problems on lap 17 of the Ray Cook’s Spring Nationals Super Late Model Series feature Saturday, and went on to score the victory at Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, TN.
Weaver set fast time over the 25 car field with a 13.546 lap. Arp would move out front early, and would lead the first 17 laps of the 50 lap feature until mechanical problems sidelined his car.
Weaver inherited the lead, with Derek Ellis, Mike Marlar, and Billy Ogle Jr. worked to track down the leader. As the race wound down, Marlar and Ogle got by Ellis, but neither man could track down Weaver, who drove away to the victory. Riley Hickman rounded out the top five.
In other racing action, Rick Hixson of Soddy Daisy, TN won the Steel Head Late Model feature and teammate Lamar Scoggins of Georgetown, TN won the Crate Late Model feature. Peebo Glen Seaton III of Cleveland, TN won the A-Hobby feature, Dallas Brooks of Chattanooga, TN won the B-Hobby feature, and E.J Bailey of Chattanooga, TN took the Pony/FWD feature.
