Richard Petty Motorsports announced Tuesday that NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Michael Annett will be unable to compete for an indefinite amount of time as he recuperates from injuries sustained in a multi-car crash at Daytona International Speedway Saturday, according to a team press release.
Annett was transported to a Daytona area hospital after being in a crash with five laps to go in Saturday’s DRIVE4COPD 300. The 13-car melee brought out a 20 minute red flag in the event. Annett was kept overnight for evaluation, and released on Sunday.
