Donny Schatz brought his broom to Bubba Raceway Park Saturday night, as he swept both UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions features on the weekend at the Ocala, FL speedway.

Meanwhile, Kyle Strickler came home with the win in the UMP DirtCar Modifieds feature on Saturday.

Schatz was fast aualifier for the ASCOC at 11.982 (112.67 MPH). Dale Blaney won the Dash for the All Stars and took a massive lead from his pole position. Tim Shaffer led a lap for a brief moment before Blaney used lapped traffic, which had just slowed him down, to take a lead bigger than what he had before.

With 10 laps to go Steve Kinser saw a right rear tire go flat, adding to a rough weekend at Bubba Raceway Park.  His slower car hindered Blaney as he tried to exit the track.

Donny Schatz on the opportunity to overtake Shaffer and Blaney and he pulled away from the pack. Shaffer would stay in second while Tony Stewart jumped into third.

Schatz nearly lost the lead in traffic, but Shaffer couldn’t maximize on the opporutnit, allowing Schatz to hold the lead and go on for the victory.  Schatz pocketed a cool $7000.  Shaffer, the defending UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions champion, finished second with three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champ Tony Stewart in third. Blaney would roll home fourth, with Daryn in fifth.

In other action, Kyle Strickler was quickest of the week-end in the UMP DirtCar Modifieds as he set a record of 16.244 (83.11 MPH) around the 3/8 mile speedway.

Strickler made easy work of pole sitter Nick Hoffman and went to work setting the pace. A couple of minor cautions kept the field bunched up, with drivers such as Jeff Mathews found themselves a lap down by night’s end.

On lap 22 of 30 Dalton Meyers spun in the first turn.  Strickler held the lead ahead of team-mate Nate Caruth, followed by Hoffman, Friday night winner Rodney Sanders, and Dave Hess, Jr.  The top 4 stayed the same to the checkers but Matt Westfall jumped into the top five. Strickler celebrated with some donuts before going to collect the $5000 winner’s pay day in victory lane.

Action at Bubba Raceway Park continues next week with a Friday-Saturday-Sunday show, as the World of Outlaws Late Models has $20,000 on the line for Sunday’s feature.  For more information visit www.bubbaracewaypark.com.
