Opening day of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series testing of the new Gen-6 race car at Charlotte Motor Speedway was washed out by persistent rain showers.
Testing is slated to get underway at 9 am Friday morning, with drivers scheduled to be on the track from 9 am to 12:30 pm, and from 1 pm to 5 pm.
Testing has been extended by an additional 90 minutes from its original time. Testing is not scheduled to be extended to Saturday.
