The first half of the late-model stock main event Saturday night At Greenvile-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, SC belonged to Anthony Anders, currently the South Carolina points leader, but Toby Porter pulled up behind at the half-way point and took the lead on lap 27. From there Porter just sailed away, fast enough to stay ahead of Anders and take his eleventh victory of the season.
Porter, the current track champion points leader, said in victory lane his car was handling remarkably well, although he did have a little problem passing Jesse Little.
“That Ford had everything going well,” Porter said.
Marty Ward was third, with Little fourth and Joey Collins fifth. Bob Root was sixth and Tasha Kummer was seventh.
The results of Late-Model Stock race were unofficial pending postrace inspection.
Jamie Altop marked up the win, having started in the rear and working his way to the lead in only five laps. He passed Tim Lollis, who later left the race on lap 15. Ryan Walker finished second, with Gene Barnett third. Michael Altop finished fourth and Lollis was fifth.
Kyle Ballew had no problem winning the Renegade main, with Steve Guthrie in second and Scotty Tyner third. Daniel Jameson was fourth and Bobby Emory was fifth.
David Rader was the Street Stock winner, with Tyler Gibson taking second. Freddy Hale, Jr., was third and Kirk Gibson completed the field.
Chuckie Greer took the checkered flag in the Chargers race, and it seemed Dale Walker would finish second. But on lap 12 Walker went into the inside wall and finished last.
Tim Crowe was second, with James Johnson third, Mike Mote fourth and Michael Mote fifth.
Chris Frances used constant pressure on Danny Heil to take the lead in the Four Cylinder main event, and Buck Simmons was third. Tommy Davis, Jr. finished fourth and Jeremy Fowler was fifth.
